Time marches on, people change. We live in a time that is so uneasy, and although I am not scared by the happenings, I do anticipate the final outcome with great joy. I will state here that I am tired of political correctness to the point that many people are lost in the facade. I am tired of the fact that walking on eggshells has become the norm and we just smile and keep going. On the other end of the spectrum is the haughtiness of some.

Twenty five years ago, after my mother passed on, I assured my dad that if he ever needed to be cared for, I was the girl for the job. Today, I picked up my dad at the hospital and brought him to our home for recovery and to care for him while he finds his new normal. Aug 30, my dad suffered a massive heart attack. This was his first hospitalization since being a young boy having his tonsils removed. My dad turns 75 in less than two weeks. I struggled with emotions during the past 17 days as this man, whom I viewed as made of steel, laid helplessly in a hospital bed, undergoing 2 heart caths, quadruple bypass surgery and receiving a defibrillator after coding twice. I was reminded that life is fleeting. I prayed God would give me more time. More time to show my dad how much loved he is by me, but most importantly, explain to him how much God loves him. I am grateful for however long God has planned for him and me. I am grateful to have had the time to speak to him about Jesus, again. I pray now that his choice is made soon and it be the right choice.

Foundation
We can put away all that we care to, make plans, do drills, whatever else one feels compelled to do to prepare for the "what ifs", but if we are not spiritually prepared, we will crumble; we will fail. We must know Who and what we believe. Who/what is your foundation/house built on?

Ecclesiastes 7:20-22
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear they servant curse thee: For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise has cursed others.
Psalm 143:10
Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Oh how the world would be if we all looked to Him to teach us, guide us and then if we OBEYED! What a glorious day that will be, and Lord, may this be my goal each day.

Things to ponder
“No man in the wrong can stand up against a fellow that’s in the right and keeps on a-comin" Texas Rangers"
It takes a lot of strength and spirit to look through a man's hatred and see his good. (unknown)

Forgiveness
So, I wonder why we are so stubborn to forgive but expect forgiveness so easily. What is it that makes us think we are so special and others are not? Why must we gather the ranks to gather our backbone? Why can we not get a problem out on the table and discuss it like adults and deal with it as adults? Pride is a nasty thing people.
